1st-8th December 2020, City Harvest is fundraising via the Big Give, to raise £25k to feed 200k children this Christmas... and we can only do it with your help.
We need you to share our content, show your friends and family what we do and if you can, donate on our Big Give page - when it launches on 1st December.
Child food poverty levels have reached a record high this year, so City Harvest's role in alleviating London's child hunger is needed more than ever. We deliver free nutritious food to schools, youth groups, community centres and charity groups who feed children and their families.
When you donate through The Big Give, every £1 becomes £2, which means every £1,000 becomes £2,000 for the first £25,000 raised.
If we reach our target of £25k - it is doubled to £50k!
Championed by The Childhood Trust.
Have your credit card ready to donate from 12 midday on 1st December 2020
FOOD POVERTY SITUATION
Earlier this year, the Mayor's Office identified,
- 1 in 6 London children experience food poverty (a figure which continues to rise).
- Over 700,000 children live in poverty in the capital.
Due to nationwide knock-on effects of the pandemic, a new total of 4.5 million children, will be living in poverty by the end of the year.
This Christmas, there will be a 61% increase in demand for food parcels which we must be able to meet. With the Christmas holidays fast approaching, we want to be best prepared to feed as many children as possible, delivering high-quality food to over 300 charities in London.
THE CITY HARVEST SOLUTION
£50,000 provides 200,000 meals to children and families who would otherwise not eat - let alone have a hot, nutritious meal on the table this Christmas.
Your generosity ensures a child will have a meal on Christmas day this year.
Please help us feed London’s children this Christmas.
